Privacy notice

This notice explains what information Decoder Rebellion collects on this website, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain on purpose.
What we collect
- Color-Off entries: the entrant's first name, email address, birth month and year (to confirm the entrant is an adult), country and state or region, and a photo of the colored page. If you add an extra entry code, we keep the code too.
- Entries for children: colorists under 18 are entered by a parent or guardian. From the parent, we collect the child's first name and age only, the parent's permission, and the parent's choice about sharing the child's first name if they win. We never ask children for their own details, and we ask that photos show the colored page, not anyone's face.
- Color With Me artist applications: the details on the application form, such as your artist name, email, location, channel and sample video links.
- Safety information: to stop bots and repeat entries, your browser stores a random code and, after too many wrong tries, a short lock time. We may use Cloudflare's "I'm human" check. These don't identify you by name.
How we use it
- To run the Color-Off: confirm entries by email, judge them, tell entrants the result and deliver prizes.
- To review artist applications and contact applicants.
- To keep the contest fair and protect the site from fake entries.
We never sell personal information, and we don't use it for advertising. Location data is removed from photos when they're sent.
Who helps us
Entries and applications are stored in Decoder Rebellion's Google account (Google Sheets, Drive and Gmail), and the site is hosted by Cloudflare. They process the information only to provide those services.
What we share publicly
We may show winning and featured pages on our website and channels. For adult winners, we may show their first name and city. For colorists under 18, we show their first name, age and state or region only if their parent or guardian said yes.
How long we keep it
- Entries that are never confirmed by email are deleted after 48 hours.
- Other entries are kept for [12 months] after that month's contest ends, then deleted, except winner records we must keep for taxes.
- Artist applications are kept for 6 months unless the artist joins the program.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time. A parent or guardian can ask us to see or delete their child's details, or to stop using them. Write to us at [CONTACT EMAIL].
Children
This site is for families and adult colorists. Children should not send us information themselves. If we learn that a child under 13 sent us personal information without a parent, we delete it.
